TRS silent on IT raids on friendly companies

The spate of raids on the industrial houses and contractors reportedly close to the TRS government and the Chief Minister in Telangana have left the TRS leadership thoroughly rattled. The raids were conducted on Wednesday by the Enforcement Directorate, CBI and the Income Tax departments on Megha Engineering and Construction Limited (MEIL), GVK and other companies.

These companies are involved in Kaleshwaram and Mission Bhageeratha contracts. The MEIL was raided in 2019 also. Similarly, there were raids on MyHome company, whose owner Jupally Rameshwara Rao is believed to be close to KCR, last year. Similarly, there were raids on C5 Infra, a sub-contractor in Kaleshwaram works.

The Congress is on record claiming large-scale fund swindle in the Kaleshwaram and Mission Bhageeratha works. It said Rs 20000 crore were gobbled up in these works. BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay too had said that KCR will soon face music for his 'wrong doings.'

Strangely, there is no comment or criticism of even a faint whiff of opposition from the ruling TRS. It remained silent all through the day. All its rabble rousers were silent. There is no reaction from the party to the raids. It appears Bandi Sanjay's warnings are coming out to be true. The spate of raids on the industrial houses and contractors reportedly close to the TRS government and the Chief Minister in Telangana have left the TRS leadership thoroughly rattled.
