TS Governor Tamilisai among top 20 Global Women of Excellence Award awardees

Telangana Governor, Lt. Governor of Puducherry Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has been selected for a prestigious award for the 2020 year. The award ceremony will be held in Illinois, in the USA.
The Governor was selected for the Top 20 Global Women of Excellence Award for 2020. The award is given to celebrate the achievements of women across the globe in various fields.
United States Vice President Kamala Harris and 18 other awardees from various countries across the globe were also nominated for the award apart from Telangana Governor.
The awardees will be presented with the awards at the 9th Congressional International Women's Day Gala at Illinois in Naperville on the seventh of March. The Multi Ethnic Advisory Task Force, Illinois presents the International award.
The award jury had sent a congratulatory letter to the Governor. Calling her an ardent advocate of women's rights, gender parity, the jury appreciated her efforts in making a difference.
Soundararajan has been fighting for women's rights since her college days. She is also a supporter of the #metoo movement. For the past four decades, she has been in public service and worked for Women empowerment, tribal welfare, health, and education.
