TTD Should Stop Bowing Down To Political Pressure!

The holy shrine of Tirumala is one of the popular Hindu pilgrim places that attract a good number of devotees. The popular temple is one of the richest temples in the country. For the past few months, the decisions taken by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which runs the Tirupati temple are creating big controversies.
The current controversy as far as the TTD is concerned is that the temple authorities are breaking the rules and providing VIP darshans to supporters and people who visit the temple along with the Cabinet Ministers. Now once, this happened thrice and a Cabinet Minister did this.
Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Roja visited the Tirupati temple recently. Few of her followers accompanied Roja during her visit. As Roja reportedly asked the temple authorities to arrange the Drashans, they did so and provided special Darshans for her followers as well.
Providing special Drashans to Legislators is not wrong. But creating issues for common devotees by stopping them for longer periods is what is objectionable here. Moreover, common people will be sent out within seconds of having a glimpse of the deity.
On the flip side, when the Legislators and big personalities visit the temple, the common people will have to stay in long queues and they will not be allowed. Legislators getting special Darshan is understandable as they work for us. But allowing the supporters and followers who accompany them is not appreciable.
This happening now and then is ok. But the same happened thrice in a span of a short time. The legislators who created issues for the common devotees by offering prayers to the presiding deity are the Cabinet Ministers.
The Tirumala temple which attracts thousands of devotees every day creating issues for devotees bowing down to the pressure is not a good thing and it would send a wrong message. If the same happens for few more times, then it would be a big issue and the devotees might revolt too.
The state government runs the Hindu temples in the respective regions and they can make new rules and cancel the existing rules. But this doesn't mean, the temple authorities can allow the legislators and their supporters. It is high time the TTD should stop bowing down to pressure and start thinking about the issues faced by the devotees.
