Taking Covid Vaccination Would Not Affect Sperm Count

After several fears and concerns were raised to take the vaccine doses, fearing that taking vaccine doses would result in low sperm count. A study was conducted to found out the truth behind this.
A recent study conducted on those who are scheduled to take the vaccines of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna has found that the vaccine doses would not effect the sperm count. The volunteers age between 18 to 50. The study was published in JAMA journal.
The healthy volunteers, who took part in the study have given their semen samples three times. The first sample was given 2-7 days of abstinence, the second and third samples were provided before taking the first dose and around 70 days of taking the second dose of vaccine.
The authors have examined the semen samples on various parameters like sperm concentration, sperm motility, and total motile sperm count (TMSC).
Clearing the airs on the reproductive toxicity, the authors said decrease in sperm count was mot found in the study, but the sperm count has increased a bit among the volunteers, after taking two doses of vaccinations, they said.
To get a clear understanding, the authors have tested the samples before and after receiving the doses. A sperm concentration and total motile sperm count of 26 million/milliliter (mL) and 36 million, were reported at the beginning of the study. Post second dose of vaccine, the count has increased significantly, the authors said.
The Semen volume, sperm motility,sperm concentration saw a rise among the volunteers after administering the second dose, the authors said.
