In the wake of Telangana reporting thousands of new Covid-19 cases on a daily basis, the Telangana government led by Chief Minister KCR announced a 10-day lockdown on Tuesday.

"The State cabinet has decided to impose lockdown in the State from 10 am on May 12 (Wednesday) for ten days. However, there would be relaxation for all the activities from 6 AM to 10 AM daily. The Cabinet also decided to invite Global tenders for the procurement of the vaccine," the CMO tweeted.

With the lockdown coming into effect from tomorrow, the state government issued guidelines for lockdown on what will be allowed/ permitted during the lockdown period and what will not be.

Between 6 AM to 10 AM, all activities will be permitted across the state and once the lockdown starts, everything will come to a standstill. However, the cabinet has exempted a few fields and sectors from the lockdown.

The lockdown does not apply to all types of works pertaining to Agricultural production, its allied sectors, Agricultural Machinery Works, Management of Rice Mills, related transportation, sending grains to FCI, fertilizer, seed shops, seed factories, etc.

Taking the interests of Farmers in Telangana into consideration, the state cabinet has decided to carry out the sales of grains as usual.

Special passes will be given to employees working in Pharmaceutical companies, Medical device manufacturing companies, Medical distributors, Medical shops, all types of medical services, government and private hospitals and their vehicles will be allowed to hit the roads.

Drinking water supply and sanitation management in rural and urban areas will continue as usual.

Power generation, distribution systems, and ancillary activities operate as usual.

Transportation on national highways will continue as usual

Petrol and Diesel pumps on the National Highways will be opened 24/7

Activities of Cold Storage and ware Housing will be exempted from lockdown

Print and Electronic media will be barred from lockdown

Employment guarantee works will go on as usual

Government offices will be working with 33 percent of staff

Like the nationwide lockdown, the Banks and ATMs will function as usual.

Weddings with prior approvals will be allowed with a maximum of 40 people.

During funerals, a maximum of 20 people will be allowed

Checkpoints will be set up around Telangana and near the state borders

Between 6 AM TO 10 AM, all types of public transport, Metro RTC and others will be allowed

The ration shops will be open between 6 AM to 10 AM

Cooking Gas filling stations will work as usual

Cinema Halls, Clubs, Gyms, Swimming Pools, Amusement Parks, Sports Stadiums will be shut

The cabinet directed the DGP to see that all the guidelines are followed without a miss
