The ongoing violence and unrest in the North-East part of Delhi have resulted in deaths of not less than 24 people and around 150 were injured.

The Delhi police have struggled a lot to point out the rioters who had rampaged through various areas of the northeast Delhi who had looted and burnt buildings and vehicles in the National capital.

Hours after National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the violence-hit areas separately the reports of fresh fatalities erupted.

"A compensation of ₹2 lakh will be paid to the next of kin of the people who have died in the communal violence. Persons who have been seriously injured will be given a relief amount of ₹50,000," a senior official said.

"The beneficiaries would be identified through the MLCs (medico-legal cases). We have already discussed it with hospital authorities. The relief fund would be transferred to the beneficiaries through bank transactions," the official added.

"One person was brought dead, while another died during treatment," Medical Superintendent of LNJP Hospital Kishore Singh told about the situation.
