The three-capital issue is the most talked about issue these days. Everyone is exorcised about it. Even Jagan Mohan Reddy is being very careful about not offending anyone. Remember when he went to Vizag the other day, a 24-km-long human chain welcomed him for declaring Vizag as the capital city. Despite this, Jagan chose not to say anything. He remained silent all through his visit so as not to offend anyone.
Amid all this, BJP senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao's comments on Monday proved to be a big morale booster for Jagan. On Monday, GVL addressed the media in Vijayawada. When asked about the capital issue, he said that shifting of the capital is entirely in the hands of the state government. The Centre can only give advice if sought, he said. He then said that though the BJP has several MPs, what he says will only be official. "What others say is their personal opinion and nothing else," he said.
This statement is a big relief for YS Jagan amid all the criticism from the Opposition, including the TDP and even BJP'S Sujana Chowdary, who have been saying that the Central government is opposing the shifting of capital. GVL's assertion that what he says is official is also music Jagan's ears.
