Womenfolk in Odisha are very happy with their Chief Minister Navin Patnaik. The reason? He asked the males in the state not to use the lock down period to demand that their wives cook special recipes. Instead, they should help their better halves in washing the dishes, making the bed and cooking food, the CM said.
He said the men should use the Lock down to understand and appreciate the hard work that women put in everyday and help her in her chores. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he said men should understand that lock down period is not meant for feasting and celebrations. This only means more burden on women, he said and asked men to help their wives some way or other.
CM's advice is being very much appreciated by the womenfolk of the state. Even otherwise, Navin Patnaik has the image of being pro-women and is known to have cultivated a large number of women self-help groups. He also asked the men not to just eat, sit and while away time. "Do some exercise too," he advised them.
