This Minister Tests Positive, Attends Cabinet Meet

He is a minister in Uttaranchal. He was also a union minister in the Modi 1.0. Not just that! He is a spiritual leader, whose speeches are heard by millions with reverence and rapt attention. But, even when he tested positive during the current pandemic, he continued to travel at will and has even attended a Cabinet meet in his state. All these have put his chief minister and other cabinet colleagues in peril.
He is none other than Uttaranchal Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj. Though he had installed the Arogya Setu app, there seems to be some problem. He has been pandemic positive without even knowing it as the app did not report his health status for some reason. So, he has attended the cabinet meetings too in recent times. Now he has been confirmed as positive and has now been quarantined. Even his wife was isolated in view of her proximity to him. Now, everyone starting from Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat are in a fix. They too would soon be tested and if found positive, they too could be isolated.
Satpal Maharaj is perhaps the first minister in Uttaranchal to be tested positive and advised isolation. It remains to be seen how many more ministers will find themselves in isolation in the coming days.
