Why are Rahul Gandhi's speeches so vituperative and aggressive, yet lack substance? Why does he rake up big issues and fails to follow up? Sources in the Congress Party say that this has got to do with his backroom boys.
Most of Rahul Gandhi's backroom boys, including speech writers, are those with a Leftist tilt. For instance, Rahul Gandhi's speech writer is Sandeep Singh. He is a product of the JNU. Similarly, four of the closest assistants who help Rahul are all students of Professor Apoorvaand, who is Left-leaing. He has mentored the Youth Congress and the NSUI, both Congress affiliates. Also, former IAS officer Koppula Raju and Alankar Swai are also left-leaning.
As a result, most of Rahul's speeches raise questions, but fail in the follow up. They also help create confusion, but fail to build support. Some Congress seniors feel that he needs to change his speech writers immediately and have people who are centrist in their viewpoint. But, will Rahul Gandhi do that?
