The tiger is now changing its stripes. With Uddhav Thackeray set to take oath on Thursday evening, the Shiv Sena is busy shedding its pro-Hindutva image. The first sign of it was when Uddhav Thackeray cancelled his proposed visit to Ayodhya. Since he is now friends with the Congress, he has put off his visit to Ayodhya.

But, the bigger change is that the party's headquarter Shiv Sena Bhavan now has a huge cutout of Indira Gandhi and Balasaheb together. This poster where Balasaheb Thackeray greeting an imperious Indira Gandhi with folded hands has been put up at several other places in the city. This showed the new phase that Shiv Sena has entered now. The Shiv Sena leaders are taking every care to ensure that they do not speak in the Hindutva tone anymore.

This image of Balasaheb Thackeray bowing to Indira Gandhi is aimed at erasing the memories of Balasaheb Thackeray's staunch opposition to the Congress and the NCP. Meanwhile video clips, where Bal Thackeray has termed the Congress as Hijra (eunuchs) has also flooded the internet to remind people of his relentless anti Congress stance. To counter this, pro-Shiv Sena twitterati reminded that Bal Thackeray was always friendly with Indira Gandhi and that he had supported the emergency imposed by her. Shiv Sena wants to showcase its pro Congress attitude now.
