Gurvinder Grewal, a Sikh Youth, complained that a bar in New York's Long Island didn't allow him just because he was wearing a turban.

On May 11th, The Graduate from the Stony Brook University had gone to hangout with close pals at the Harbor Grill in Port Jefferson. The Manager of the Bar didn't let the 23-Year-Old Turban-wearing Youth enter the premises.

Speaking to International Media, Gurvinder Grewal told he was shocked and felt embarrassed to be in such a situation. 'Never been before I was denied entry into any establishment for wearing a turban. I conveyed to the Manager that it's a religious practice but he didn't let Me in citing owner's policy,' he complains.

Reportedly, A Dress Code has to be followed for the fine-dining spot with waterfront view after 10 pm on Friday and Saturday. Wearing anything that covers the Head isn't allowed. The Bar Management claims to have set up the new policy to identify the people inside the premises.

Port Jefferson Mayor Margot Garant apologised to Gurvinder Grewal for what has happened.
