Two Families Fight For Solipetas Seat
X
Even as young TRS MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy was being cremated , political circles have gone into a tizzy hotly debating as to who would succeed him in Dubbak. Since elections have to be held within six months of the demise of the sitting MLA, the political class has begun looking for a suitable candidate.

Though his hard work, accessibility and proximity to KCR, Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy had carved a niche for himself. He has been an MLA for the past 11 years. He passed away suddenly due to a cardiac stroke recently. Now, the debate on who would succeed him. Normally, the political consensus is that the family members of the MLA,who dies in harness get elected unanimously. The opposition does not put up a candidate. Congress MLA from Sangareddy Turpu Jagga Reddy had already gone on record saying the party would not put up a candidate in case a member of Solipeta family is given TRS ticket. The debate now is on whether the TRS leadership opts for Solipeta's wife Sujatha or her son Satish Reddy. The general consensus is that Satish Reddy will have a longer political life.

But, former TDP leader Cheruku Mutyam Reddy's son Srinivas Reddy too is aspiring for the TRS ticket. Muthyam Reddy had joined the TRS ahead of 2018 elections and had actively campaigned for Solipeta. He was promised a key nominated post. Now that Muthyam Reddy has passed away some time ago, his son is staking claim for the MLA ticket. Who will KCR favour? Will he give a nominated post for Srinivas Reddy and give party ticket to Sathish Reddy? Let's wait and see.
