In the wake of the quick escalation in the border tensions between India and China following the recent stand-off at Galwan Valley in Eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), India banned 59 Chinese apps to teach China a lesson.

This move gained support from the United States, with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo welcoming India's decision in this regard. The Secretary said this step will safeguard the national security.

On Monday, India banned 59 Chinese Apps, including TikTok, Helo, WeChat, SHAREit, UC Browser, Mi Community on the grounds of compromising the privacy and security of the users.

With the Indian government banning these apps, ByteDance- a parent company of TikTok and Helo might suffer a loss of mammoth Rs 45000 crore, as per the Chinese media reports.

The other day, TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer wrote a message to the Indian employees. In his message, the CEO said, the company faced an unfortunate challenge with the latest development and assured the employees that the company guarantees their employment.
