United States Registers Record Coronavirus Fatalities And Hospitalisations

The United States continues to be the worst-affected nation with the Coronavirus outbreak. The ongoing festive season in the United States has intensified the virus spread adding more fears and concerns.
United States which has been registering record fresh Coronavirus infections, since the US Presidential elections in November, witnessed a record Coronavirus fatalities with 3,157 casualties.
The data collected by the Johns Hopkins University stated that the newly registered 3,157 casualties are the highest Covid-19 fatalities recorded so far. The previous highest fatalities were recorded on April 15 with 2,603.
The fresh addition of fatalities takes the total count of casualties related to the pandemic in the nation to a whopping 273,799, which is the highest for any country globally.
The steady growth in hospitalisations since November is also posing a great threat to the United States. On Thursday, more than one lakh people were hospitalised, which is the highest number of hospitalisations so far.
Looking at the fresh Coronavirus infections, the United States added 225,201 fresh cases in the past 24 hours. The country has added more than 2 lakh cases for two days in a row. Between Wednesday and Thursday, more than 210,000 cases were reported. Over 13.9 million patients have been diagnosed with the virus so far.
With these unwanted and shocking developments, all the eyes are on the government’s approval of vaccine authorisation. The governing body will chair a meeting on the 10th of December to take a call on authorisation.
