The ongoing second wave of novel Coronavirus continues to ring the danger bells in the film industry. People associated with the Film Industry are losing their lives one after the other.

Ace actor-comedian Pandu Pandu, known for his works in Tamil movies, passed away on Thursday due to Covid-19. He breathed his last undergoing treatment for Covid at a hospital.

The 74-year-old actor and his wife Kumudha had come in contact with the novel Coronavirus recently and have been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. While his wife is reportedly being treated for Covid-19, he lost his wife as he was not responding to the treatment.

Producer and distributor G Dhananjayan shared the sad news of the noted actor losing his wife on social media. In the post, he paid his last respects to the actor.

'Better to switch off from all social media for sometime. Very shocking to read this morning news. #RIPPandu sir, one of the finest human beings & actors. Going to be on home quarantine for some days. Be safe at home friends. Take care. Very challenging days ahead (sic)," Dhanajay's tweet reads.

As per the media reports, the last rites of the ace actor will take place at the Besant Nagar cremation on Thursday and the 74-year-old will be shifted to the cremation ground from the hospital.

Pandu made his acting debut in the year 1970 with Maanavan. He got recognition with Karaiyellam Shenbagapoo.In his long career, he has acted alongside big stars like Superstar Rajinikanth, Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Thala Ajith, and others.

Since the inception of Covid second wave, the likes of popular comedian Vivek, Director-cinematographer KV Anand, and senior character artist Chelladurai breathed their last.
