Very rarely we see Telugu cricketers playing for the Indian cricketer team. Talented player KS Bharat joined the list of Telugu players who represented the team. As regular wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant met with an accident, BCCI gave a chance to Bharat. Though he could not make valuable runs, he scored browny points with the performance behind the stumps.
After winning the Border=-Gavaskar trophy, India will play in the big tournament with WTC Finals. The finals will be played in June against mighty Australia. Ahead of the finals, veteran Indian Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar opined that Rohit Sharma should back KL Rahul over KS Bharat.
Talking about the record of KL Rahul on England, Gavaskar said that he scored a century at the Lord's and he will come in handy. As the WTC finals would be played at the Oval stadium, Gavaskar said that Rahul's presence will help the team if he bats at No 5 or No 6.
Sunil Gavaskar also said that KL Rahul is a wicketkeeper-batsman and he had a good England tour last year. Speaking to a sports channel, Sunil Gavaskar said that Rohit Sharma should prefer KL Rahul over KS Bharat.
"You can see KL Rahul as a wicketkeeper. If he bats at No.5 or 6 in at the Oval then our batting will be stronger. Because he batted really well in England last year. He scored a century at the Lord's. Keep KL Rahul in mind when you pick your XI for the WTC final," Sunil Gavaskar said.
Rishabh Pant made the difference in the previous Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The right-hand batsman attacked the bowlers. The spinners went for massive runs with Pant's batting. The same was missed in the recent series. Indian batsmen could not target the Australian bowlers as Pant did.
