Naidu's Plan: Discourage People from Buying Cars!

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu stressed the need to discourage people from owning more cars for making the country a better place. He told parking spaces should be made mandatory for registering cars in metro cities. In addition, He suggests hiking the parking fee in congested areas, retiring of old vehicles and shifting to clean fuels.
At the inauguration of 10th Urban Mobility India conference, Venkaiah Naidu told there is need for promoting the use of electric vehicles. He feels smart leaders with a clear vision, courage and conviction in the need of the hour.
Naidu opines providing comfortable, affordable and reliable public transport is the only way to bring down the demand of private motorised vehicles. He believes High Capacity Public Transport Systems are required to reduce the air and noise pollution. 'Though Metro Rail is a good alternative, It's alone isn't gonna be sufficient. Circular Railway and Electrical Buses are needed,' he says.
