The incident took place in temple city Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. Going into details, a person named Srinivasachari, a deceased beggar was allotted a house near the Seshachalam area in Tirumala.
He breathed his last with ill-health last year. He has no family members and the house allocated to him has been vacant. Following this, the officials reached the house to repossess it.
The officials of the Vigilance wing of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) were stunned after seeing Rs 10 lakh at the house allocated to the former beggar. The amount recovered by the officials includes various denominations.
After recovering the money from the house allocated by the TTD, the richest temple in the country, the officials have deposited the money with the temple treasury.
