In a tense turn of events, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's flight made an emergency landing at the Gannavaram Airport the other day. Minutes after taking off, the pilot landed the flight. The issue caught everyone's attention given the stature of Jagan as the head of the state.

People are still talking about the incident. The journey did not last more than 15 minutes. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was on his way to the national capital Delhi to participate in a summit on Monday when an issue was detected and the flight landed at the airport.

Amid this, Vijayawada Airport Director M Lakshmikanth Reddy spoke to the media and said that due to a technical issue, the flight made an emergency landing as there is a procedure that needs to be followed before taking off.

Saying that this is a common issue in aviation and the safety of passengers is the main goal for a pilot and when a Chief Minister is in the flight pilot makes sure that safety is ensured. He said that speaking to the media on the emergency landing issue.

Giving a clear insight into the issue, the Airport Director said that a few checks are followed before a flight takes off and when any technical issue or other glitch is detected then the pilot returns the flight to the airport to ensure the safety of the passengers and the same happened the other day.

"A flight will take off only after a proper check. Even if there is a small technical glitch, the pilot returns to the airport and the same has happened in this case,'' M Lakshmikanth Reddy said, talking about the emergency landing.

The technical issue was detected shortly after the flight that was supposed to reach the national capital Delhi. In less than 15 minutes after taking off the flight returned as the pilot made an emergency landing. As a result, Jagan Mohan Reddy's Delhi visit was delayed by a few hours. Later he went to Delhi on another special flight to attend the big summit.
