For easy governance and bringing various services under one roof, the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy brought the flagship Grama Sachivalayam concept. Besides this, the youth in the concerned areas were also given jobs as volunteers to serve the people.

However, the Andhra Pradesh government has been facing back-to-back shocks with the Grama Sachivalayam offices, with the owners of the places alleging that the long-pending dues are yet to be cleared and they are unable to deal with the rental dues. A few offices are yet to clear the dues of close to one and a half years.

With the government and concerned authorities not responding to their requests, the owners are implementing the idea of locking the office places. With the owners locking the offices, the employees at the secretariat were forced to stay out with no option left.

One after the other places in the state is seeing the secretariat offices being locked with the delay in payments and clearing the dues. Forget about other places, a similar incident happened in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s home district Kadapa.

Going into detail, a couple gave their building on rent to set up the Village Secretariat at Jammalamadugu’s Gudemcheruvu. However, they have been asking the authorities to clear the dues. Not happy with their negligence, the couple locked the secretariat's office.
