The captaincy saga of Run Machine Virat Kohli continues. After the T20 and ODI captaincy, Virat's Test captaincy saga took the cricketing world by surprise. From fans to former cricketers, everyone is still unable to digest the shocking news. The flame around the issue is burning still.

A shocking reaction came from a veteran Indian player over Virat Kohli's Test captaincy issue. Reacting to the much-talked-about issue in the cricketing world right now, the legendary player made sensational claims and made many heads turn at him.

Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar termed Virat Kohli's decision to leave the Test captaincy not surprising. Gavaskar said that the decision did not surprise him and he felt that the decision would be made during the presentation ceremony.

The celebrated player made these comments to shed light on the point of how the BCCI officials see the overseas defeats and how seriously the officials see the overseas records and track record.

Gavaskar walked down the memory lane to recollect how he had the taste of overseas defeats during his stint as the skipper. Mr. Gavaskar said he had the same experience when he used to lead the same. I too had the experience of it. The reason for it is that the officials and public that love the game won't see overseas losses lightly, Gavaskar said.

Giving more details, Sunil Gavaskar said how high the Indian team had the chances of winning the series. They(Indian Team) had won the test match in Centurion. This gave hope and confidence that the team can win the Test series. But this did not happen. In such situations, the skipper is always in danger, he maintained.

"Looking at the fact that he had been removed as ODI captain. Yes, having lost this series, that was always possible. If you don't win, what happens? Doesn't matter if he's been individually successful, in a team sport, the captain is the one where the buck stops," the former skipper said.

Virat Kohli scripted history as the best Indian skipper so far with a stunning win percentage of close to 60 percent with 58.82 percent. The stats present Kohli as a successful skipper than Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly too. Compared to the two skippers, Virat Kohli led India in more matches.
