At the time when the Omicron variant is ringing danger bells and raising fear that the new variant might trigger the third wave of Coronavirus, the Telangana government said all the required measures were taken to tackle the situation if the third wave hits the state.

Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao who is overseeing the arrangements for the ramping up of the facilities inaugurated a 100-bed facility at Kondapur District Hospital today. After inaugurating the hospital, the Health Minister said other facilities would be added to treat serious Kidney patients. Harish Rao was accompanied by Education Minister, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, Mindspace Business Park REIT CEO Vinod Rohira when he inaugurated the beds' facility.

Providing details on the facilities arranged by the Telangana government during the first and second waves of Coronavirus, Harish Rao said additional 300 beds were arranged at the state-run hospitals taking the total bed count to 1300. The Minister also mentioned how the government is ramping up the facilities to improve the health sector.

According to the Health Minister, the government made 6000-beds available across the 33 districts in the state. The beds would be dedicated to treating children. The work is underway to add 900 ICU beds in the state-run hospitals. The facilities would add a burden of Rs 150 crore to the government, he said.

On the occasion, Harish Rao had thanked Mindspace for their contribution in constructing the new facility with 100 beds which were constructed under the Corporate social responsibility(CSR). He said, the way they are helping for this is appreciable and asked them to come forward to adopt the hospital facility.

Having said that the Telangana government is ramping up the facilities to face the possible next wave, Harish Rao had expressed his concerns over people still having apprehensions about taking the vaccine doses. Harish Rao had called the public representatives to take part in the anti-Covid promotional activities.

Harish Rao also appealed to the people in the state to leave their fears and apprehensions aside and show up at the vaccine centers to take the vaccine doses so that the chances of the infections getting increased would come down.
