The YSRCP MLAs and constituency incharges are on their toes as the D Day is approaching. Starting from May 11, the MLAs, MPs and constituency incharges are going to tour every nook and corner of their respective constituencies and distribute a letter written by YS Jagan to the people of the state. The letter, according to sources, will furnish in detail the welfare schemes implemented by the Jagan Government.

The outreach is being used to assess the performance of the MLAs in their respective constituencies. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will assess and evaluate the performance of the MLAs on the basis of the success or otherwise of the campaign. The whole network of the party would have to be activated for this programme.

Sources said that Jagan has already categorised his MLAs into three groups. The first category comprises those who are popular and are assured of winning again. The second category is those who are just above the average mark. A little nudge could help them get through. The third category comprises the under-performers. Sources say that Jagan has given them nine months to improve their ratings. If they fail to improve, they would be mercilessly replaced, Jagan reportedly made it clear to them.

According to a survey commissioned by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Government has a 65 per cent approval rating. But, at least 40 to 45 MLAs are in the third category. Their performance is being rated as below par. The MLAs are now said to be making frantic attempts to reach out to the people and win back their favour.
