American cross-platform messaging service WhatsApp Messenger announced a major change in its data-sharing policy which landed WhatsApp to the receiving end.

The new policies of data-sharing enable the WhatsApp service owned by Facebook to share the data of the users with Facebook and some of the companies affiliated with it reportedly.

WhatsApp is already asking the users to accept the new data-sharing policy. The users have no option left except for accepting the policy. If the users won't agree to the policy, they cannot access WhatsApp after 8 February.

Raising fear over their privacy among the users gave a much-needed boost to the cloud-based instant messaging software Telegram and Signal.

The downloads of the two apps increase rapidly since the first week of January. Telegram attracted not less than 25 million new users over the past few days. Currently, the service has over 500 million users.

Singal, which is being promoted by Elon Musk offers 'end-to-end encryption just like WhatsApp, makes it one of the widely downloaded apps from the play stores across the globe.

Looks like, the issues faced by WhatsApp turned out as a gamechanger to Signal and Telegram. In the battle between privacy issues and WhatsApp's assurance Telegram and Signal have the last laugh.
