Why Ageing Maoists Are Approaching Politicians These Days?

Politicians in Telangana, a handful of journalists and some top human rights activists are much in demand these days. They are now sought after by the top Maoists to facilitate their surrender. These ageing, battle-weathered and worn-out ultras are approaching the politicians, mediapersonnel and Human Rights workers to negotiate their surrender.

If sources are to be believed, besides former top leader Ganapathi and Central Committee member Mallojula Venugopal alias Bhupathi, a host of other seniors like Katakam Sudarshan, Ganapathi's wife Sujatha, Mallojula's wife Tarabai, Central Committee members Malla Rajireddy, Devji alias Tippari Tirupati and Kadari Satyanarayana are planning to leave the deep jungle hideouts to lead a normal life. These people want some lenience in police cases and financial assistance for their rehabilitation. Their family members are now negotiating the terms of their surrender. If this happens, most of the ageing top leaders would come out into the open.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a massive manhunt to nab Mailaram Adellu alias Bhaskar, who is currently the State Committee member. Bhaskar is active in Telangana and is trying to recruit youth into the Maoist organisation.
