Why Has This Diehard Tdp Man Fallen Silent?

Senior TDP leader from Kadapa district Reddeppagaripalli Ramesh Kumar Reddy has been keeping away from active politics for quite some time. Ramesh Reddy has a strong political pedigree and has vast experience as a legislator.  His father Rajagopala Reddy too was a two-time MLA and has represented Lakkireddypalli assembly constituency both as a Congress candidate and then as a TDP candidate.

A well-known anti YSR leader from Kadapa, Rajagopal Reddy slowly faded away due to old age.  After him, his sons Ramesh Kumar Reddy and Srinivasula Reddy entered the fray. Srinivasula Reddy lost against YS Jagan in 2019. Ramesh Reddy too has contested against Gadikota Srikanth Reddy at Rayachoti. However,  he lost the election to Gadikota. Since then, Ramesh Kumar Reddy has been keeping a low profile.  He has not been taking interest in the party affairs.

Srinivasulu Reddy is the incharge for Kadapa Parliamentary constituency. But, both have decided to stay away from active politics after their 2019 defeat. With this political family's hibernation, the YSRCP would have an advantage in the coming days. Ramesh Kumar Reddy has thus ceded ground to Gadikota Srikanth Reddy, who has won in both 2014 and 2019.

Several other TDP leaders in Kadapa district too have become politically inactive. Some have joined the TDP, while some others have gone silent. Some leaders like Adinarayana Reddy and Ramasubba Reddy, who have some clout, are now facing an uncertain future. The Telugu Desam needs quite an exercise to get revived in this all-important district.
