Jana Sena MLA Rapaka Varaprasad staged a sit in protest at Malikipuram Police Station on Sunday night demanding stringent action against Sub-Inspector Rama Rao.
If the media reports are to be believed, A Close Aide of Rapaka was arrested by Malikipuram Police at AN Lanka Village on charges of gambling. It became an issue with SI turning down the order of MLA to release his Follower.
As per the MLA's Supporter, Rapaka made a phone call to SI Rama Rao regarding a case. The Police Officer hasn't offered due respect to the Legislator and even used harsh language during the conversation. At around 8 PM, Rapaka reached the Police Station along with his followers but SI wasn't in the station at that time. MLA decided to stage a protest in the police station itself demanding Sub-Inspector to appear before him at the earliest. Upon knowing about the information, Jana Sena Activists reached the Police Station in huge numbers. A demand was placed for the suspension of SI for insulting the MLA.
Tension prevailed in Malikipuram after MLA Rapaka staged a protest. District SP called the Legislator to know about what has happened. SP appealed Rapaka to withdraw the protest assuring high-level inquiry on the incident. Still, Rapaka and his Supporters remained firm on their demand for suspension of the SI.
