Why this collector was transferred suddenly

What's behind the sudden transfer of Mulug district collector C Narayana Reddy? Sources say his transfer ahead of the upcoming Medaram Jatara is very significant. The collector, who is known to be a stickler to rules and is non-corruptible, is an eyesore for the politicians, who have deep links with the contractors involved in the Medaram works. He has been preventing them from profiting from the works by doing shoddy works and siphoning of funds.
Sources say that a minister from the North Telangana has played a key role in getting Reddy transferred from the district. Some contractors and local TRS leaders met the minister few days ago and the transfer orders followed in quick succession.
The Government has released around Rs 75 crore for the Medaram works in view of the Jatra. Everytime, contractors and politicians collude to siphon off the funds by doing works on nomination basis. The money is released to them even before the actual work is accomplished and the contractors take the money away without doing the works properly. Collector Reddy tried to stop this and paid the price. Interestingly, during the last Medaram Jatara too, the then collector Akunuri Murali was transferred for the same reason.
