Will Chandrababu shed deadwood in the party?

TDP fast is becoming a party of white elephants. Several seniors, who have years of experience in the party and in the government, are now becoming the biggest stumbling blocks to the party's growth. These leaders are highly inactive, but find place in every committee that Chandrababu constitutes due to their seniority. As a result, they are blocking the entry of new talent into the party. Sources say that Chandrababu Naidu is aware of the situation but can do little by way of changing the situation.

Former deputy CMs Nimmakayala China Rajappa, KE Krishna Murthy, former ministers Kala Venkata Rao, Pithani Satyanayrana, Prattipati Pulla Rao, Palle Raghunatha Reddy, Kalwa Srinivasulu and Nakka Anandbabu are practically inactive. Except for an occasion press meet, they are doing nothing. They are not part of the party agitations and protests. Some leaders like former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy have virtually become local leaders and are reacting to only local issues.

Some fair-weather politicians like Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Narayana are completely off the radar. There is no activity from their side. As for Ganta, one does not know whether he is in the TDP or not. Only leaders like Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao and Atchen Naidu are active in the party.

Wellwishers are said to have suggested TDP boss Chandrababu to shed this deadwood and bring in young leadership, which has the enthusiasm to fight the YSRCP. These young leaders will grow into seasoned leaders in a matter of two years and would be perfect foils to Nara Lokesh Babu, who is likely to lead the party n 2024 eections.
