There is heightened political humdrum in the Telangana unit of the Congress party what with the High Comman taking interest in filling the post of PCC chief. The High Command, according to reliable sources, is scanning through the list of the PCC chief post aspirants and has reportedly zeroed in on two young leaders.
According to sources in Delhi, the party high command is of the opinion that the party needs a young, resourceful and dynamic leader to head the state unit. It feels only young leaders can galvanise the party and take on KCR in 2023. Sources say that the choice is between Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Revanth Reddy. Though there are names like VH, Turpu Jagga Reddy and even Ponnala Lakshmaiah in active consideration, the high command feels that a y oung PCC chief would be helpful for Rahul Gandhi, who is looking for a younger team to work with.
Meanwhile there is disquiet among the senior leaders over this news. The seniors feel that handing over the reins of the party to new comers or young leaders would mean that the inexperienced leaders would lead the charge. Such young and inexperienced leaders may not be a match to the foxy KCR, they fell.
