Will Modi give an appointment to Chandrababu Naidu?

If TDP sources are to be believed, their supremo Chandrababu Naidu is trying hard to secure the appointment of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The reason? He wants to cultivate their friendship especially after the positive signals that PM Modi reportedly sent during the recent meeting on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The pro-TDP media is said to be working overtime to peddle this story. This section of the media is arguing that Modi has reportedly asked Chandrababu to visit Delhi often. Chandrababu Naidu has not been visiting Delhi after his 2019 defeat at the hands of the YSRCP. However, there would be some importance to his Delhi visit only if he is able to meet either Modi or Shah. Hence, the party leaders, the media claims, are working out ways to secure the appointment of Modi and Shah.

But the big question is – whether Modi-Shah combine wants to part company with the YSRCP. As of now, the BJP requires the support of the YSRCP to get its bills passed in Rajya Sabha, where the BJP does not have complete majority. Will the BJP break up with the YSRCP especially after Nitish Kumar has walked out of the NDA? Well, certainly unlikely.

As of now, the bonds between the BJP and the YSRCP are quite strong. So, will the BJP ignore the YSRCP? Will the YSRCP allow the BJP slip out of its hands? Political observers say that it is quite unlikely that the BJP and the YSRCP may break their relationship. So, despite all his efforts, Chandrababu Naidu may draw a blank in Delhi, feel analysts.
