Will YCP Take anti-BJP Parties Stand On Freebies?

Mundu Nuyyi Venuka Goyyi is a famous proverb in Telugu widely used to talk about any tricky situation where one cannot go ahead or go back. It is a tough situation that forces one to go through a situation where they cannot do anything other than go with the flow.

The popular proverb suits very well for the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as far as the ruling party's situation is concerned. YCP is in a top spot now as the whole country is talking about the freebies as the trend of giving freebies is receiving mixed responses.

It is known that the Union government is not leaving any stone unturned to see that the freebies are stopped in the country. The Bharatiya Janata Party has been saying that giving freebies will leave a toll on the economy and the trend should be stopped. The Supreme Court also supported the version of the Centre and directed the other political parties to give their versions.

This brought the focus on the YCP in Andhra Pradesh. It is known that YCP is continuing the freebies despite the state going through a financial crisis. Despite no growth, YCP is not stopping welfare schemes, and the Andhra Pradesh government is also batting a deaf ear to the criticism made by the opposition parties.

As the ruling party banked heavily on the freebies announced before the elections and is continuing the same no matter how bad the state economy is, there is no chance that it would stop the freebies or talk against the trend.

Moreover, the Andhra Pradesh government is looking at various options to gather funds to continue the welfare schemes. So they cannot stop giving freebies. On the flip side, it also cannot support the trend of giving freebies as the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party.

On the other side, YCP cannot stop giving the freebies to come in the good books of the BJP. The ruling party made the voters in the state get habituated to the welfare schemes and the trend has reached a point where even the opposition party Telugu Desam Party said that it will not stop the welfare schemes. YCP is in a position where it cannot oppose the welfare schemes or continue.
