A woman claiming that she was sexually exploited repeatedly has moved the Mumbai Police to register a complaint on Thursday night. The name she mentioned as accused came as a shock to the cops.
Going into details, a 30-year-old woman approached the Mumbai Police to register a complaint against Bhushan Kumar, the owner of T-Series.
In the complaint, the woman maintained that between 2017 and 2020, she was sexually exploited by Bhushan Kumar promising to give her work.
Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against Bhushan Kumar under sections of IPC 376, 420 and 506, which deal with rape, cheating and criminal intimidation respectively.
T-Series has responded to the complaint and termed it false. According to the company, she worked with the T-Series earlier and wanted the company to help her in producing a web series.
But Bhushan Kumar refused to fund the project. Again in June 2021, she started approaching Bhushan Kumar to extort money from him. T-Series registered a complaint against her in July. We even have proof of the woman trying to extort money, the company said.
Adding further the music company said that they are in talks with the legal experts on what steps should be taken in this regard.
"The complaint filed against Mr. Bhushan Kumar is completely false and malicious and the contents of the same are denied. It has been falsely alleged that the lady in question was sexually exploited between 2017 to 2020 on the pretext of giving her work. It is a matter of record that she has already worked for T-Series banner in Film and music videos.Around March 2021 she approached Mr. Bhushan Kumar seeking help to fund one of the web series which she wanted to produce, which was politely refused," the company said in a statement.
Bhushan Kumar's upcoming films include pan-India Superstar Prabhas' Radhe Shyam, Adipurush, Ajay Devgn's Bhuj: The Pride of India and others.
T-Series is a leading music company which also deals with the production. It was started by Gulshan Kumar, father of Bhushan Kumar in the 1980s. Gulshan Kumar was murdered by the underworld back in 1997.
