As a development to cheer about, India bagged gold at the World Cadet Wrestling Championships hosted at Budapest on Sunday.

Wrestler Priya Malik bagged a gold in the 73 kg weight category by defeating Belarus opponent Kseniya Patapovich. Priya Malik crushed her opponent with a margin of 5-0.

Priya Malik made India proud a day after Mirabai Chanu bagged the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 in the 49 kg category.

The wrestler who scripted history by becoming the first Indian to claim Gold at the World Wrestling Championship has a long history of winning gold medals at various levels.

Back in 2019, Priya Malik bagged gold at the Khelo India Youth Games hosted in Pune. She continued her spree of winning gold at the 17th school games held in national capital Delhi in 2020.

Priya Malik continued to win Gold at the National Cadet Championship and National School Games.
