Andhrites have voluntarily took part in the bandh call given by YS Jaganmohan Reddy in protest against the Central Government for denying Special Category Status & neglecting Bifurcation Promises.
Transportation in the state has come to a halt. RTC Buses haven't come out of the depots. Government Employees didn't reach their offices. Schools, Colleges and Business Establishments remained closed.
Although TDP and Congress didn't cooperate, People of Andhra Pradesh has voluntarily took part in the bandh. The impact was so strong even though Police Force is being used to prevent the bandh.
TDP Leaders claims they are ready for any sacrifices to achieve Special Category Status. Then, Why does they act against the bandh call? Home Minister Rajnath Singh's comment in Parliament raised many doubts over the secret pact between TDP and BJP. While YCP MPs submitted their resignations, TDP MPs refrained from making any such sacrifices. Sympathy of people seems to be with the YSR Congress Party which never changed it's stand on Special Category Status.
