In a shocking incident, son of a prominent YSRCP leader committed suicide in Tadepalli. Manjunatha Reddy, a contractor and a businessman, is the son-in-law of Rayadurgam MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy. Kapu is a key YSRCP leader and has considerable influence in Anantapur politics.

Manjunatha Reddy was found dead in his Tadepalli flat on Saturday morning.  He owns a flat in Kunchanapalli of Tadepalli mandal. He came to the flat three days ago. On Saturday, the security staff tried to wake him up and found that he was lying dead on his bed. They broke open the door and shifted him to the hospital.

Manjunatha Reddy's father Maheshwar Reddy too is a senior YSRCP leader and owns the PMR constructions company. On knowing about the death of his, Maheshwar Reddy rushed to Tadepalli from his native village in Anantapur. Manjunatha Reddy's wife Sravanthi is a doctor.

Sources said that Manjunatha Reddy had done several contracts in Andhra Pradesh and several other states including Jammu and Kashmir. However, his bills are pending in several states, due to which he was under tremendous pressure from those who have lent their money to him. Sources say that he may have been driven to commit suicide due to financial problems.
