For the past few days, YSRCP MP Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy has been facing severe criticism that ED raided the premises of his office and residence in connection with the alleged liquor scam in the national capital Delhi. It is said that along with a few other places his residence was also raided.

Days after the news came out, the MP reacted to the issue and cleared the airs. He said that no evidence or documents against them were found during the raids and the ED said the same in the report it submitted. He alleged that a conspiracy is going on to blame him for the issue. The raids happened at the residences in Chennai and Delhi.

If we look at the comments made by the MP, experts say that he is doing damage control for the negative image he got with the ED raids. Despite saying no links with the scam, the MP said his family faced losses with the liquor scam. This is a contradictory statement.

Ever since the news of the raid came up, there has been an opinion that he might take the route of the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party to escape the issue like how a few Telugu Desam Party MPs did. The MP indirectly hinted at that and said anything can happen in the future and he cannot predict what happens next.

The raids raised many doubts as many ask how come the ED raided the premises of the MP if there is no proper evidence on this. He is not an MLA or something, he is an MP, and the officials take good care when they raid the premises of MPs. Without evidence, the chances of conducting raids are very less.

This made the experts think that the MP might be giving statements to control the damage caused by the ED raids in connection with the liquor scam in Delhi.

It has to be mentioned here that the Magunta family is into the liquor business for a few decades and their business is spread over a few states. His family members are doing business in the national capital Delhi as well.
