The arsonists set fire to shops, vehicles and RTC buses to oppose the decision. The violence spread to places like Ambajipet, Ravulapalem and other areas. Section 144 had to be imposed and special forces had to be requisitioned to bring the situation under control.
The police arrested one Cheekati Veera Venkata Satya prasad, who gave details about the other people involved in the incident. He also revealed that messages were exchanged on specially formed Whatsapp Groups to wreak havoc and cause destruction.
