YSRCP raises data theft issue, but where is the person who highlighted it?

Now that the data theft in AP ahead of the 2019 elections to help the then ruling party is making news, the natural question is where is Tummala Lokeshwar Reddy, who first exposed the data theft. He was IT advisor for the AP Government but was thrown out of the post in 2021. Since then, he has not been seen in the power corridors.

Reddy created a flutter when he lodged a complaint against IT Grids (India) Pvt Ltd and Bluefrog Mobile Technologies Pvt Ltd, which were given access to the official data pertaining to the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes. His complaint also pointed out that the Aadhar details, colour pics of the voters, their mobile numbers and Smart Pulse Survey reports were given to these complaints to ensure that those who backed YSRCP were removed from the voters’ rolls.

He highlighted the fact that TDP was resorting to voter profiling using the same data. He pointed out that the data was uploaded into the Seva Mitra application of the TDP. Now, YSRCP MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy is the chairperson of the legislative sub-committee that is looking into the scam. But the man who highlighted the scam is nowhere to be seen.

According to sources, the YSRCP government sacked him after he tried to get his sister-in-law elected as sarpanch and pitted her against the official candidate. Since then, Reddy has not met any YSRCP leader and is keeping a low profile.
