Even at 77, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has proved that he is a past-master in the art of governance and politics. He has shown that he is an able administrator and a master politician – both at the same time.
The way he has handled Corona crisis in Karnataka, especially in Bengaluru, which is a major city, has won praise from even his rivals. He managed to elicit the support of even the Opposition parties and curbed the spread of Corona in a systematic manner. As a result, the number of cases in Karnataka is quite low. Unlike the mega cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, the number of cases in Bengaluru is also quite low. The way Yediyurappa handled the crisis and ensured that there was no community spread is now being keenly watched at the centre. Even Home Minister Amit Shah is said to have been impressed by Yediyurappa's work.
As a result of this success, the Central leadership of the BJP is according more respect to him than earlier. His words are taken more seriously. The Central leadership of the party, which wanted to replace him with a young leader, is now thinking of continuing him for some more time in view of his administrative acumen.
