JanaSena Chief Pawan Kalyan had promised to stand by the farmers of the Amaravati capital villages.

The new YSR Congress government proposing to have three capitals in Andhra Pradesh with Amaravathi as Legislation capital, Vishakapatnam as Executive capital and Kurnool as Judicial capital. Farmers have called for a Bandh of all the 29 villages today. The State Government has imposed Section 144 to prevent the farmers from resorting to protests. Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan had promised to stand by the farmers.

Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan made same promise in 2015-16, particularly when the farmers of Undavalli, Penumaka, Yerrabalem, Bethapudi, Nidamarru and Kuragallu villages, opposed the land pooling. Pawan Kalyan visited them in 2015 on their invitation and promised to stand by them and fight for their rights. But, after meeting the then chief minister Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada, the Jana Sena chief turned in favour of TDP
