Padikkal becomes the talk of the nation after he smashed 56 runs off 42 balls, 8 fours in his debut game of IPL.
Born in Kerala, Padikkal's family shifted to Bangalore from Hyderabad in 2011. His training began at the Karnataka Institute of Cricket.
Devdutt Padikkal was the highest run-scorer in 2019/20 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He scored 609 runs at an average of 67.66 in the former while finished with 580 runs (12 innings) in the latter.
Royal Challengers Bangalore is the strongest team, but the team has not stood in the title race so far. There are many reasons for that. The opening problem for the team last season was a big concern. But this time around, the deficit seems to have been filled in the form Devdutt Padikkal.
