Why This MLA Is Facing Tough Times In TRS?

Why are the chips down for Bodhan MLA Mohammed Shakil? He has won the elections handsomely. In fact, he is the only Muslim MLA for the party in the state. Yet he could not get a ministry. Not just that, the party leadership does not seem to trust him. So , it is deliberately keeping him in the margins.
The TRS leadership strongly feels that Shakil has sabotaged the winning chances of Kavitha Kalwakuntla in the Lok Sabha elections. It is of the opinion that Shakil had actually stabbed Kavitha in the back and caused her defeat. In 2018 assembly elections, Shakil won Bodhan assembly seat by a whopping margin of 29000 votes. However, in the Lok Sabha elections, Kavitha Kalwakuntla had lost by 50000 votes. In Bodhan alone, the BJP got 25000 more votes than Kavitha. In all the other assembly constituencies, the margin is just 40000. The big difference was in Bodhan.
The party sources feel that Shakil may have come to some kind of understanding with BJP's Dharmapuri Aravind and may have sabotaged the chances of Kavitha. Hence he has been ignored in the party. Though Shakil is trying very hard to regain the lost credibility, the party, especially Kavitha Kalwakuntla is in no position to forget and forgive.
