Team India is looking in terrific form in the World Cup. The Rohit Sharma-led team won as many as four matches in a row. India had ticked all the boxes so far in the tournament. Bowlers are giving breakthroughs whenever the team needs and batsmen are scoring big runs. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma scored centuries already.

But India is now going to face a big threat in the form of the 2019 World Cup Runner Up New Zealand. Sunday is the D-day for India for the massive clash. Despite India looking very strong and in good form, fans are worried that New Zealand would make us taste the first defeat in the tournament.

There are reasons for this, in the 2019 World Cup, India was knocked out from the semis by New Zealand. India lost three wickets for just five runs. When India was trying to stabilize things MS Dhoni was run out and the run-out still makes the Indian fans sad.

If we look at the stats, New Zealand always overpowered us in any event. In the bilateral series and Test series we can defeat the Kiwis. But when it comes to the ICC events, New Zealand has been crushing us. The only time we crushed New Zealand was back in 2003 when Sourav Ganguly was the skipper.

It's been around 20 years, but we could not defeat New Zealand in any ICC event. To shed light on the dominance Kiwis have on us, we won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 50-over World Cup in 2011. Despite this, India could not defeat the team in the tournaments.

Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma has the chance to script history and break the New Zealand Jinx in the ICC events. He is looking in good form and so does the other players. This is the best chance he has in his hands.

If the batsmen can score good runs and bowlers can bowl economically it is not a big deal for India to register the first win against New Zealand after 20 years. After becoming the skipper Rohit Sharma added many feathers to his ca. If he can add this then he will become the skipper who achieved that even Dhoni could not.
