2019 Runner-up New Zealand started its 2023 World Cup with a bang by crushing the defending champions England. Despite the absence of skipper Kane Williamson, the black caps won the match. Taking inspiration from the first win, the team won its second match with a big dominance.


In the second match, New Zealand crushed the Netherlands. The black caps scored 322 in their quota bundled the Netherlands for just 223 runs and recorded a 99-run win. With two back-to-back wins, New Zealand has four points and had a good Net run rate.

But the New Zealand vs Netherlands match grabbed everyone’s attention as four Indian-origin players were part of the fight. While one player is from the New Zealand team, three others are part of the Netherlands team.

Rachin Ravindra:

The Young batsman has his roots in India. Before moving to New Zealand, his parents lived in Bengaluru. He was named after two Legendary players Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. In the match against England, he scored a big ton and followed it with a half-century in yesterday’s match.

Vikramjit Singh:

The left-handed opening batsman was born in Punjab and his family is based out there. When he was seven, his family moved to the Netherlands. His career started with the club cricket. Seeing his performance, he was picked as a player for the under-19 cricket team at the 2019 Under-19 World Cup Europe Qualifier.

Aryan Dutt:

The young player was born in the Netherlands. His parents are from India, but they migrated to the Netherlands in the 80s and he was born there. India’s win in the 2011 World Cup has a big role to play in his career. After the win, he developed an interest in the game.

Teja Nidamanuru:

Looking at the name we can see he is from India. Yes, he hails from Andhra Pradesh. He was born in Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada. After his family moved to the Netherlands, he started playing cricket there. After a super performance in the T20 format in the 2017–18 Super Smash, he was given a chance in the 50-over format.
