2023 World Cup: Highest Individual Score Recorded!

South Africa started the World Cup stint with a bang. The Proteas team recorded the highest score in World Cup history with a record score of 428. The team showed dominance in the game that three batters reached the three-figure score and helped the team reach a big score.

In another match, the South African team crushed the defending champions England. In the game, the team came close to the 400 mark and crushed the England team with a big margin of 229 runs. England was restricted to just 170 while chasing the massive target of 400 runs.

Now the team added another big record in the ongoing World Cup as the South African player recorded the highest World Cup score. Quinton de Kock who is in a regal form is the one who set up the massive record.

The Wicket Keeper batsman scored 174 runs in just 140 runs. His heroics include 7 sixes and 15 fours. He came very close to the historic double century. However, he fell short of the mark. Nonetheless, he became the highest run-scorer in the history of the World Cup.

Quinton de Kock is having a dream form in the ongoing World Cup as this marks his third century in the tournament as well. After reaching a century in 101 balls, he scored 73 runs in just 39 balls.

With this, the South African player joined the elite list of players like Rohit Sharma, Kumar Sangakkara, Sourav Ganguly, and others who scored three centuries in a single edition of the World Cup.

The Wicket-keeper batsman went past the great AB de Villiers with this record. AB D who is regarded as 360 degree player has two centuries in a single edition and he achieved this in the 2015 edition.
