Indian skipper Rohit Sharma made his name a synonym to records over the years. His career can be seen before and after he was promoted as the opener. The then-Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni promoted Rohit as the opener in 2013 in the England series and there is no looking back from then.

Rohit Sharma has been adding more and more records after becoming the opener for the team. In the 2019 edition of the World Cup, Rohit Sharma recorded the highest number of centuries in one WC edition and he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar with this. Across formats, Rohit Sharma is shining with the bat.

He became a regular member of the test team in 2019. In his stint as an opener in these four years, Rohit Sharma made many wonders and added another feather to his cap. Hitman Rohit Sharma achieved a rare feat that makes him the only player to do so.

Rohit Sharma emerged as the only cricketer in the history of the longest format to record 30 consecutive double-digit figures. He achieved this record with his sensational knocks against the West Indies as part of the ongoing series. Veteran Sri Lanka player Mahela Jayawardene earlier held the record with 29 consecutive double-digit scores and Rohit Sharma surpassed him.

Rohit Sharma was often regarded as the best white-ball cricketer. He could not show his potential in the test format with the limited chances he received. But he proved everyone wrong with his brilliant entry into the longest format.

With a brilliant knock of 80, Rohit Sharma's runs tally went up to 17,298. Rohit Sharma also surpassed Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the process.
