T20 World Cup: Indian Giants To Open The Innings!

India had the biggest opportunity to lift the World Cup after a long time. But the Men In Blue fell short in the finals. As per the media reports skipper Rohit Sharma and former skipper Virat Kohli might open the innings. As this could be the last World Cup for the two we might see them as openers.

Rohit Sharma has been consistent as an opener that only the other batsman who would open the innings is changing and he is consistent. We have seen the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, and Shubman Gill being the other openers along with Rohit Sharma.

In the 2023 World Cup, Shubman Gill failed as he could not score big runs. Rohit Sharma played quick innings throughout the tournament and gave a good start to the team.

The T20 format fits Virat Kohli the best and some of the best knocks came from him. It was he who helped India beat Pakistan in the crucial match. Rohit Sharma’s fiery knocks and Virat Kohli’s heroics might help India in the big tournament.

It would be sad news for Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. While Jaiswal might not make up to the squad, Gill might be taken as the backup opener in case of emergency.

CSK player Shivam Dube might also be selected. There is a lack of credible all-rounders in the team. Hardik Pandya is prone to injuries and with this, the management might be looking at Dube. Ravindra Jadeja is very consistent with the ball and fielding. But he could not perform well with the bat. So Shivam Dube might make it to the team as an all-rounder.
