India is a land of diversity

However, disputes broke out between different communities. Though the disputes are not new we are seeing such incidents increasing of late.
A birth certificate is the first proof of any individual. The certificate indicates the year and date of the birth of the person. However, we can see the caste and religion columns on the certificate. Many have thought of how about having a no caste no religion column in certificates.
In a big step in this, the Telangana High Court gave key orders and issued directives to the concerned authorities to mention the column of "No Caste" and "No Religion" in the online applications. Hearing a petition, the High gave the sensational orders.
Going into details, Swaroopa Sandepu who hails from Hyderabad has been fighting to have such columns. However, her fight did not give any fruitful outcome despite giving multiple representations to the concerned authorities.
So she moved the High Court and the court heard the petition. During the hearing, the High Court made some key comments. The High Court said that people can follow the religion they like, but they are also entitled to not follow any religion.
What the High Court said is very appreciable and a big step in stopping the issues and fights between various communities. If there is no mention of castes and religions in the birth certificate then the next generation of people cannot associate them with any community and the fights will also stop.
Educated people are now trying to come out of castes and religious barriers and doing marriages outside their old. However, they are facing fightback from their families and society. Amid this, the High Court said that people can pick whether they don't want to have a religion column.
The High Court of Telangana gave directives to Principal Secretary, School Education, Municipal Administration, and other authorities to see that a column is mentioned in online applications so that they can declare the status of No caste and No Religion.
